Matthew Cronin comes to Connect&GO with valuable experience in a variety of fields. Having started out as a sound engineer turned skate shop owner, Matthew eventually made the transition into event solution sales – and he never looked back! Matthew loves a few things in life…travel, his dog Kirra and being able to try things that are outside his comfort zone. Matthew recently joined the Connect&GO team as Director of Business Development – Sports and Entertainment. He’s already hit the ground running, and we can’t wait to work on tons of exciting projects with him this year!
Getting to know you…
We asked Matthew a few quick questions to get to know him a bit better.
“The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.”
A fictitious super-group made up of Julian Casablancas, Thom Yorke, Alex Turner and Brian Wilson.
Favorite TV show?
Your next travel destination?
A family road trip through Italy
Favorite restaurant in Montreal?
Damas (Syrian restaurant – the best Fattouch you’ll ever eat!)
Accomplishment you are most proud of?
Learning to be myself even when some situations have called for me to be someone else.
How did you start working with Connect&GO?
I had a couple of conversations with Tony and Dom, and we hit it off very quickly. They were so genuine and driven. I wasn’t really looking for something new, but the passion they have for what we do made me want to be a part of it.
What do you do on a typical workday?
At Connect&GO, a typical workday does not exist. At any time you may find me on the phone with clients and partners, answering my huge email inbox while listening to odd Spotify playlists or scouring LinkedIn to find the person I met at the place that time right before the thing.
What do you like most about Connect&GO?
The people. I am still new-ish, but you can just tell when people genuinely care about their work – that stands out for me. Everyone here seems to be truly enjoying what they do. That, and the access to Anthony’s rare sneaker collection in the office closet; he doesn’t know it, but I put some miles on those bad boys when he’s away.
What do you do when you are not working?
I play some instruments, read some books, play some sports, drink only the finest of Labatt beer products and try to make every moment memorable.
What are your most important values?
As John and Paul once said, “All you need is love”. It’s simple, but is does sum up what my life is all about. Doing what you love, with the people you love.
